Tangkuban Perahu is one of the most popular tourist attractions near Bandung. This active volcano has a huge crater called Kawah Ratu that tourists can hike down into. Be prepared for the sulfurous smell and wear sturdy shoes to hike down into the crater. Early in the morning is the best time to visit before the crowds arrive. Watch out for the hot steam vents and boiling mud pools inside the crater. The entrance fee includes access to the crater as well as surrounding tourist attractions like hot springs and a wildlife conservation area.
2. Gedung Sate

Built during the Dutch colonial period in 1921, Gedung Sate is one of Bandung’s most famous and iconic landmarks. The architecture combines native Indonesian and European styles. Gedung Sate was originally built as the head office for the Dutch East Indies railway company. Today it houses the governor’s office of the West Java province. Visitors can walk around the grounds and take photos of the unique spindle-shaped architecture and the ponds surrounding the building. Guided tours are available on weekdays with an appointment.

Dusun Bambu is a favorite family-friendly attraction in the highlands near Bandung. This leisure park has restaurants, art shops, horseback riding, and hotels surrounded by beautiful scenery. Saung Angklung Udjo is a cultural workshop and live performance venue that promotes Sundanese performing arts. Visitors can watch an angklung orchestra perform traditional Indonesian music. This unique floating market is modeled after the floating markets of Thailand and Vietnam. Wandering vendors in traditional boats sell fruit, snacks, and souvenirs along the 200m long canal. Visitors can cross decorative bridges, see water spray performances, feed giant catfish, and ride on a paddle boat. Try local specialty snacks as you stroll beside the water. The Floating Market also has an orchid garden, rabbit farm, beach area and water park for kids.
