Mount Bromo is an active volcano and the most iconic landmark in East Java. At 2,329 meters above sea level, it is not the highest peak, but its stunning beauty with the vast sea of sand around it makes it one of the most visited sights in Indonesia. The sunrise viewed from Mount Bromo is simply magnificent. Most visitors stay in the nearby village of Cemoro Lawang to get access to Mount Bromo. From there, you can opt to walk or ride a horse to climb up the volcano and view the sunrise over the caldera.
2. Coban Rondo Waterfall

Coban Rondo is a beautiful waterfall situated in the Pujon area of Malang. Surrounded by lush greenery and rocky cliffs, the 15-meter high waterfall flows into a natural pool perfect for swimming. Though not very tall, Coban Rondo has a strong flow and perfectly clear water which makes it very inviting for a dip. There are changing rooms and simple eateries nearby the waterfall area. It does get crowded on weekends but still worth a visit.
3. Jatim Park Group

Jatim Park is a theme park consisting of several sections – Jatim Park 1, 2 and 3. It has various rides, attractions, museums, and shows, making it the most popular family-friendly destination in Malang. Jatim Park 1 has an agricultural theme with orchid greenhouses, insect museum, and reptile exhibits. Jatim Park 2 focuses on education and technology with a science center. Jatim Park 3 is all about entertainment with exciting rides like Halilintar roller coaster and Niagara Flume Ride.
4. Malang Town Square (MTS)

Malang Town Square is the largest shopping and leisure destination in the city. This huge complex has a department store, international brand outlets, restaurants, cafes, food court, karaoke, bowling alley, billiard hall, and XXI Cinema. You can literally spend the whole day in MTS as there are so many dining and entertainment options suitable for the entire family. 5. Batu Night Spectacular

Batu Night Spectacular is a night tour at Batu Town Square highlighting the city’s famous apple orchards and various Instagrammable neon light gardens. The tour includes 7-8 fun photo spots like neon flower garden, apple neon tunnel, butterfly park, mirror room, etc. You can pose against the colorful neon backdrops and take lots of vibrant pictures here. It does get quite crowded at peak times so weekdays are recommended. They also have food stalls, games, and live music.
6. Museum Angkut

Museum Angkut is the largest car museum in Southeast Asia with over 300 vehicles on display. The lineup includes vintage cars, trucks, motorbikes, bicycles, and more. Exhibits are spread across indoor galleries and outdoor areas over a sprawling complex. Highlights include the huge American pop art style statues, jet plane, train coaches, and the colorful transistors building. Museum Angkut is a must-visit for automobile lovers to see rare vintage collections.
7. Selecta Recreation Park

8. Kusuma Agrowisata

Kusuma Agrowisata is a beautiful orchard and plantation in Batu, most famous for their apple and lavender gardens. You can learn about Indonesia’s agriculture and see tropical fruits like avocado, snake fruit, coffee, and cacao up close. There are pretty photo spots throughout the large compound. The highlight is the Instagenic pink lavender field and rose garden. They also produce fresh honey, jam, apple cider vinegar, and essential oils.
9. Alun-Alun Malang

Alun-Alun Malang is the historic city square and landmark of Malang City. This large grass field has banyan tree-lined pathways with vibrant Dutch colonial buildings surrounding it. In the evenings, the spotlights come on to illuminate the towering vintage structures. There are street food vendors, horse carriage rides, and cultural performances at Alun-Alun Malang. Locals like to exercise, fly kites, and hang out here.
10. Gunung Banyak Recreation Park

Gunung Banyak is a nature recreation park on the outskirts of Malang City. It offers outdoor activities like camping, fishing, hiking, ATV rides, swimming, and more all with the scenic mountainous backdrop. The park has wooden cottages, tents, caravans, and rooms for overnight stays. There are also eateries selling local dishes to refuel after your adventures. With cool, fresh air, Gunung Banyak is a nice spot for a quick getaway from the city.
