1. Bogor Botanical Gardens (Kebun Raya Bogor)
The Bogor Botanical Gardens is one of the must-visit places in Bogor. Established in 1817, it is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Southeast Asia.

The botanical gardens cover an area of 87 hectares and contain more than 15,000 varieties of trees and plants. Visitors can wander along the lush garden paths or take the canal boat to explore the entire grounds.
2. Bogor Palace (Istana Bogor)
The historical Bogor Palace is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bogor. Also known as Istana Bogor, this palace was built in 1745 as a residence for the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies.

3. Bogor Zoological Gardens
The Bogor Zoological Gardens or Kebun Binatang Bogor houses over 2,000 animals representing nearly 270 species. Established in 1994, it is one of the oldest zoos in Southeast Asia.

Some of the zoo’s popular animals include Sumatran tigers, African lions, Malayan sun bears and Indonesian orangutans. 4. Situ Gunung Waterfall
Situ Gunung Waterfall is a nature attraction located on the slopes of Mount Salak. Situated 48 km from the city center, this waterfall has a height of 120 meters.

5. Bukit Bintang Wana Wisata
Bukit Bintang Wana Wisata is a family-friendly recreational park on top of a hill overlooking Bogor. Located 6 km from the city center, this 5-hectare park offers play facilities for kids and picnic spots for families.

8. Curug Bidadari Waterfall
Located 18 km from Bogor, Curug Bidadari Waterfall is a scenic nature attraction surrounded by rainforest. Bidadari means angel in Indonesian.

The waterfall drops from a height of 90 meters through several cascading tiers. Visitors have to trek about 1 km through the forest to reach the waterfall. There are seven tiers but only five are easily accessible. Swimming below the waterfall is allowed but the currents can be strong so take precautions.
9. Juanda Forest Park
Spanning 5 hectares, Juanda Forest Park is a nice urban green space for families and joggers. Facilities include a playground, ponds, rock garden, fountains and reflexology path.

The park gets very crowded on weekends as locals flock here for recreational activities. Visitors can bring kids to the playground, take pleasant strolls along the garden paths or rest on one of the park benches. There are food stalls outside the park.
